A user guide on me and how I work.
It captures my guiding values, how I work as a human, and will hopefully help you understand me better and help us work together. 😊🙌
North Star Ideals 🌟
People First.
Design should serve people. My work begins with empathy and ends with experiences that feel thoughtful, clear, and meaningful.
Integrity & Craft.
I care deeply about quality- visually, functionally, and ethically. I don’t cut corners, and I value honesty in both the process and the product.
Clarity is Care.
I believe that clear communication is a kindness. Whether designing systems or sharing ideas, I aim to make things more understandable and more human.
Inclusion is a Foundation.
To me, inclusion isn’t an add-on, but the baseline. I’m committed to building spaces and tools where everyone feels respected and supported.
Design for Good.
Design holds power, and I try to use it with care. This means contributing to outcomes that make a positive, lasting impact.
Motivated by Meaning.
I’m far more driven by purpose than by paychecks. What energizes me is work I can believe in. These are projects that align with my values, make a difference, and allow me to take real ownership.
Think Long-Term.
From the tools I choose to the pace I keep, I aim to work sustainably for myself, for teams, and for the world around us.
How I Work 🐊
Collaborative & Kind.
I thrive in environments where ideas flow freely, people listen well, and kindness is part of the process.
Detail-Aware, Vision-Aligned.
I sweat the small stuff when it matters-but always in service of the larger vision.
Calm, Flexible, Focused.
I adapt easily to change and try to meet shifting needs with steadiness and care.
People-Conscious Systems.
I love refining workflows and tools that help teams thrive-but never at the expense of the people using them.
Communication Style & Neurodivergence
I have mild ADHD, and I process information best when I can see it. That means I retain and act on things more effectively when they’re written down- whether that’s in a doc, a message, or my own notes. Verbal communication is totally welcome; it just helps a lot if I’m given space to write things down or if key details are followed up in writing. I’ve found this not only supports my focus but also leads to clearer communication overall.
Digital Boundaries & Response Time
I reserve one full day each week- usually Sunday- as a true day of rest. That means no email, no Slack, and no screens if I can help it. It’s become essential to my balance, focus, and creative energy.
During weekdays (and often Saturdays), I typically respond within a day. If you message me on a Sunday, I’ll get back to you Monday-unless it’s truly urgent.
Who I Am Outside of Work 🏖️
Drawing & Painting.
I keep a regular sketchbook practice as a way to stay connected to the world beyond work. It’s a personal art habit that grounds me, and quietly keeps my observational and design instincts sharp.
Music.
I’ve spent much of my life composing and performing under the name Glowworm. Though I’ve stepped back from music professionally, it remains a huge part of my creative identity.
Jogging, Reading, & Family Time.
I’m nourished by jogs in my neighborhood, good books, quiet thinking, and spending time with my wife & son. I believe in making space to notice the world. As John Lennon said, “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.” 🎵
